Attention FHN patients


Medicaid of Illinois has not renewed its contract with FHN (Family Health Network) for next year. 

If you wish to remain a patient with Pediatric Health Associates, you must enroll in either BCBS Community Family Health Plan or Meridian Health Plan and choose a Pediatric Health doctor as your PCP (primary care physician)

We strongly recommend that you enroll within the next 2-3 weeks to avoid being auto-assigned by Medicaid to another insurance company not contracted with our group.

PLEASE NOTE: 
Meridian is contracted with CDH hospital
BCBS is contracted with both CDH and Edward hospitals.

Common and unpredictable, the influenza virus can cause serious complications including death in even the healthiest children.  In the United States, about 5% to 20% of the population will be diagnosed with influenza every year, causing over 200,000 hospitalizations.  Last year, there were at least 77 children that died from influenza, and this does not include deaths that were caused by secondary complications such as pneumonia and respiratory failure.  The 2010/2011 flu season data reported 49% of deaths in children from influenza...
